In Memoriam: The Admiral Twin Drive-In Theatre (1951-2010)
Well, Drive-In fans, it is a sad day for us all. On Friday, September 2, 2010, the Admiral Twin Drive-In Theatre in Tulsa burned to the ground. The theatre had been around since 1951, and was heavily featured in the film "The Outsiders". It was a true symbol of Drive-In Cinema, and one which will be sorely missed. Rest In Peace, old friend.

Scream! That truly sucks! I'm lucky enough to have a drive in not too far from me, but it's the only one left. There used to be about 7 or 8 drive ins less than a hours drive, but one by one, they got the axe. It's a shame, nothing like going to watch a cheesy horror or sci fi flick under the stars.

Wow, that blows.
ReplyDeleteI know, it sucks. I remember there used to be two Drive-In Theatres in my town, and now there are none. Drive-In cinema is slowly dying :(
